The Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, Dhan Bahadur Oli, embarked on a significant visit to Siam University in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of his diplomatic outreach. The primary purpose of his visit was to foster connections with Nepali students pursuing their academic endeavors at the esteemed institution while also gaining insights into the safety measures implemented by Siam University for Nepali youths.

During his visit, Ambassador Oli engaged in discussions with key figures at the university, including the President, Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, Assistant President, Dr. Cheol J. Cho, and other faculty members. The ambassador’s interactions extended to a personal engagement with Nepali students, creating a platform for dialogue and understanding.

Expressing their gratitude, Nepali students at Siam University conveyed their appreciation for Ambassador Oli’s visit and the opportunity to interact with him. Ambassador Oli, in turn, acknowledged the pivotal role of these students in shaping the future of Nepal, stating, “Our students are not merely students; they are here to design our future. They bear the responsibility of making our country, Nepal, better, and their presence at Siam University in Thailand is instrumental in designing a brighter future for Nepal.”

Highlighting the symbolic significance of Nepali students abroad, Ambassador Oli emphasized that they represent not only themselves but also carry the essence of Nepal wherever they go. He wished them success in their studies, acknowledging the crucial role they play in shaping Nepal’s destiny.

Commending the university’s commitment to sustaining the learning process, Ambassador Oli praised the resilience of Nepali youth and the dedication exhibited by Nepali students at Siam University. He remarked, “Seeing the resilience of Nepali youth and the commitment of Nepali students here at Siam University gives us an excellent example of what Thailand and Nepalis can achieve together, sharing their culture, religion, and togetherness.”

Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University, extended gratitude to Ambassador Oli for his visit and expressed anticipation for his participation in future university activities. He particularly mentioned events like the U.N. Peace Day, organized annually by Siam University. Additionally, the university’s International Affairs head, Yhing Sawheny, delivered a comprehensive presentation, offering insights into the rich history, diverse activities, faculties, and programs of Siam University.

The visit not only strengthened diplomatic ties but also served as a testament to the collaborative efforts between Nepal and Thailand in nurturing educational and cultural exchanges, laying the foundation for a harmonious partnership.
