INARUWA — Aurawani of Gadhi rural municipality-2 in Sunsari has been declared as first untouchability-free ward in the district on Sunday.

At a program organized by Ward office of Gadhi rural municipality-2 and Nepal National Dalit Society Welfare Organisation, Itahari, Sunsari, the ward no 2 was declared as untouchability-free zone.

Coordinator of Ward Office, Badri Narayan Sharma, said that the ward was declared as untouchability-free zone after it fulfilled all indexes required for the same.

On the occasion, different personalities including Chief District Officer of Sunsari, prem Prasad Upretim Chairperson of Gadhi rural municipality, Shree Prasad Yadav, and Chairperson of Nepal National Dalit Society Welfare Organisation, Itahari, Sunsari, Man Bahadur Rasaili, stressed the need of implementing it into practice.
