Kathmandu, May 12 – In a shocking revelation, Madan Rai, the founder of the Shubhadra Madan (Shubham) Foundation, has been arrested by the Khotang District Police Office on charges of child sexual abuse. The arrest follows multiple testimonies from girls studying at the foundation’s school in Diktel, Khotang, and women associated with the foundation, exposing a pattern of misconduct by Rai.

The allegations against Rai include sexual harassment, indecent exposure, and the use of vulgar language towards the girls under his care. The victims reported instances of Rai touching their private parts, soliciting sexual intercourse, requesting them to touch his private parts, and engaging in other perverted activities. These disturbing accounts were further supported by video evidence obtained during the investigation.

In addition to the accusations against Madan Rai, one of the girls also accused Peshal Karki, a former mentor at the foundation, of engaging in inappropriate behavior. The accused offenses range from touching her chest to kissing, groping, and pinching her on multiple occasions.

Former teachers and staff members associated with the foundation have corroborated the victims’ testimonies, describing a hostile environment where obscene language and indecent actions were normalized. This culture of fear and silence among the victims prevented them from speaking out against the abuse.

Madan Rai’s admission to his actions, claiming a belief in free sex and admitting to touching the private parts of both girls and boys, is deeply troubling. It underscores a blatant disregard for legal boundaries and the well-being of those under his care.

The arrest of Madan Rai sends a clear message that child sexual abuse will not be tolerated. The authorities must now conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the victims and take appropriate legal action against those involved.
