CHITWAN — In a period of one and half months, four dengue fever patients have been found in Chitwan. Among them, one had got infected in Mumbai, India, the District Public Health Office, Chitwan said.

DPHo Chitwan’s vector controller Ram KC said such a number of dengue patients were detected since July 16, the starting of the new fiscal year.

A person from the district who had been to India in course of employment returned home with the complaint of fever. He was diagnosed with this mosquito-borne disease at the Narayani Community Hospital on August 27.

Dengue fever commonly known as dengue is transmitted from the bites of a female mosquito aedes aegypti.

Meanwhile, a case of chikungunya has been detected in a person from Nawalparasi. He is being treated in the district. RSS
