KATHMANDU: Nepali climber Kami Rita Sherpa climbed Mt. Everest for the 25th time on Friday evening. 

According to Kathmandu-based Seven Summit Treks, he arrived at Chuchuro at 6 pm, leading a rope-making team for this season. Twelve Sherpas, including him, had left the fourth camp at 6 pm on Thursday.

According to the company, the team included Kami Rita, six Sherpa climbers from Sankhuwasabha, and six from Solukhumbu. They left the base camp three days ago on Tuesday.

The Seven Summit said the team would return to the fourth summit today.

The Department of Tourism has allowed 44 expeditions to climb Mt. Everest this season alone. Of them, 92 are women and 315 are men.
