RAJBIRAJ — CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his confidence that the voters in Province No. 2 would vote for the Maoist candidates as the Maoist Centre was highly sensitive to Madhes and Madhesi people.

At a news conference in Rajbiraj today, the former prime minister said that Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) were just exploiting the Madhes and Madhesi people, and giving false assurances. “But, Maoist party was working for the development and prosperity of Madhes and Madhesi people,” he added.

On the occasion, Dahal said that his party attempted to forge alliance for elections in Province No. 2 with the Madhes-centric political parties but the internal disputes, stress and leg-pulling in them created problems.

On the occasion, he recalled his talks with Indian premier Narendra Modi about the problems of inundation in Tarai adding that he allocated more budget for postal highway and irrigation during his premiership.

Likewise, Dahal took stock of security situation and polls activities of Saptari with the government officials.

Earlier this morning, the former prime minister interacted with the industrialists about the political situation and business environment of Saptari.

Currently, Dahal is in Tarai districts for election campaigning for the local level polls to be held in Province No. 2 on coming September 18. RSS
