MANGALBARE, ILAM — State Assembly member of Province 1 Ram Rana has stressed the need for focusing on the marketing of local tea to increase its trade.

Saying Ilam is yet to be free from the use of pesticide in tea production and the workers are yet to find safe environment, he emphasised the full enforcement of the labour act and alternatives to the use of pesticide in tea production.

He was speaking at a one-day workshop on the theme of ‘health and security in tea sector’ organised by the Central Tea Cooperative Federation Ltd. Nepal, Ilam in the district on Tuesday.

He also called for increasing tea production and its quality for local tea to get the international market. RSS
