Kathmandu, 17 May 2023 – The Embassy of India in Kathmandu and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of the Government of Nepal have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to implement two High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal. These projects, funded under the grant assistance of the Government of India, aim to enhance healthcare and education sectors in Nepal. The total estimated cost for both projects is NRs. 80.33 million.

The two projects, namely the construction of Malagiri Shanti Yogashram in Ramechhap District and Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus in Doti District, will be implemented through Ramechhap Municipality and Badikedar Rural Municipality, respectively.

The construction of these projects will significantly improve healthcare and education facilities for the local communities. The Malagiri Shanti Yogashram project aims to provide better healthcare services, promoting physical and mental well-being among the people of Ramechhap District. On the other hand, the Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus project will contribute to the advancement of education in Doti District, fostering a conducive learning environment for students.

These initiatives under the Government of India’s grant assistance reflect the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations and support Nepal’s development priorities. The projects will have a direct positive impact on the lives of people in Nepal, improving their access to essential services and enhancing the overall quality of life.

Both the Embassy of India and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration expressed their confidence in the successful implementation of these projects.
