KATHMANDU — Of the 20,000 oxygen cylinders donated by China, 2,000 cylinders will be brought to Nepal in the first consignment. Discussions have started about sending a widebody aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation for this.

Nepal Airlines has submitted a ‘quotation’ as per the demand of the Ministry of Finance. A Nepal Airlines source said that no agreement has been reached on the fare of the ship and discussions are underway.

The ship will bring cylinders from Beijing. Only Nepal Airlines has a ship that can carry cylinders in this capacity.

According to sources, the ship will leave for Beijing on May 11 if the agreement is reached between the finance ministry and the corporation. As per the action plan of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, it is planned to bring oxygen cylinders from China to Nepal by May 12.
