KATHMANDU — Nepal has defeated Papua New Guinea by six wickets in the world cup playoff game. With this victory, Nepal’s possibilities for one-day test recognition are still alive.

In the game held today in Harare of Zimbabwe, Nepal achieved the target of 115 runs given by Papua New Guinea with the loss of 23 overs and four wickets.

Dipendra Singh Airee contributed the highest 50 runs while Arif Shekh managed 26 runs.
Likewise, batsman Gyanednra Malla scored a single run while Anil Shah could not contribute even a single run.

Captain Paras Khadka garnered 20 runs while Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed three runs for the team.

Earlier, Papua New Guinea scored 114 runs with the loss of 27.2 overs.

Nepal will get recognition of one day test if Hong Kong was defeated by the Netherlands in another game being held today.

A team from Nepal, Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong remaining in the top score will get the one day test while the Netherlands has already received the recognition for the one-day test. RSS
