KATHMANDU — Nepal lost its final match in the AFC Asian cup 2019 qualifying stage, going down to Yemen 1-2.

In the match held at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium of Doha, Qatar last night, Nepal lost the match after conceding a penalty in the 84th minute of the match.

Until then the score was tied at 1-1. Yemen opened the scoresheet through a goal from striker Abdulwasea Al Matari in the 24th minute of the first half. However, Nawayug Shrestha cancelled it with a header goal just before half time.

Nepal finished fourth with just two draws in its group involving Yemen, Philippines and Tajikistan. Group leaders Philippines and Yemen qualified for the Asian Cup being held in 2019.
