The Nepal government has announced a cash prize of Rs. 6 lakh for the victorious team of the ACC Premier Cup cricket tournament. Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, stated that the cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to award Rs. 6 lakh each to the players and Rs. 3 lakh each to the officials.

Nepal emerged as the champions of the ACC Premier Cup after defeating UAE in the final on Tuesday, securing their spot in the Asia Cup Cricket. As per the sports award procedure, the winning team is entitled to a prize of Rs. 5 lakh, but the Council of Ministers decided to increase the reward by an additional Rs. 1 lakh.

Moreover, the cabinet meeting also confirmed the allocation of funds in the next financial year’s budget to elevate the Kirtipur cricket ground to an international level.
