In a significant development, the government of Kathmandu has launched an online service for students seeking to study abroad to obtain their No Objection Letter (NOC). The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the NOC office in Sano Thimi on Tuesday.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Ashok Kumar Rai, the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, who officially inaugurated the online service. With this new initiative, students can conveniently apply for their NOC from the comfort of their homes. Once the application process is completed, students will have the option to download and print their certificates themselves.

During his address, Minister Rai expressed the government’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and accessibility in the application process. He emphasized that students can now fill out the application form online, make the necessary payments, and easily obtain their certificates by downloading and printing them independently.

“This online service addresses the long-standing demand for a streamlined application process,” Minister Rai stated. “While the system is currently 60 percent operational, we are dedicated to further refining it until it reaches 99 percent efficiency.”

Although certain tasks still require an in-person visit to the office, Minister Rai assured that such requirements will be eliminated in the near future.

Moreover, he announced the ministry’s plans to develop a comprehensive system capable of maintaining detailed records of students studying abroad. This system aims to track students’ educational journey, including information on their enrolled universities or colleges, any transitions between educational institutions, and their overall academic progress.

Students seeking to apply for the NOC online can visit the official website by clicking here. This new online service is expected to simplify the application process and provide greater convenience to aspiring students.
