KATHMANDU — Nepal Tourism Board and Trekking Agents Association of Nepal jointly organized and participated in Alpinmesse in Innsbruck, Austria that was held on Oct 20-21, 2018. The fair was totally dedicated for adventure activities. NTB along with.9 travel trade sector participated in the fair. Nepal was represented for the first time in the fair.

The two-day fair showcased different activities related to adventure. Since Austrian shows tremendous interests in outdoor activities, Nepal equally showcased varied adventure highlights. Adventure comes at the top of the list among European travellers. This is of particular significance to families. European travellers are seeking for new adventure. Nepal offered different products to entice them. Segments like mountaineering, trekking, cycling are pull for Austrian travellers. Nepal showcased distinctive wildlife experiences, adrenaline pumping adventure activities, jaw-dropping landscape and untouched natural beauty during the fair.

Also a press conference was organised in Alpinmesse, where Destination Nepal presentation was made. During the press conference, journalists were briefed about Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign along with amazing products of Nepal. Emphasis was given on lifetime experiences, Nepal as a must-visit destination and visit Nepal as a Journey of a lifetime. Also present during the occasion were Mr. Mr. Amber Bahadur Karki, Counsellor/Deputy-Permanent Representative Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN in Austria, Prof. Wolfgang Nairz – first Everest Summiter from Austria. Media personnel was briefed about a tremendous amount of infrastructure being built around the country that is vital for offering quality tourism products. The fair was well supported by NRN-Austria who offered. Nepalese cuisine to visitors and also showed Nepalese cultural dances as well.
