KATHMANDU — Left alliance candidate from the Kathmandu constituency-4 Dr Rajan Bhattarai has said the communist parties had given up the idea of one-party authoritarian rule some 25 years ago.

Bhattarai said this at a face-to-face programme organized by Reporters’ Club at Sukedhara today in Kathmandu constituency-4 as part of its discussion programme with candidates. On the occasion, he further noted that they have opted for bringing overall change in the country by winning the hearts of people rather not through wars.

“We had also suffered much to bring democracy in the country. We have forged the communist alliance to introduce socialism not communism in the country. We have no goal to reinstate communist rule”, he added.

CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli will be the future Prime Minster from the left alliance, he claimed.

Communists attempt to obstruct democratic way-Dr Mahat

Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat accused the communist alliance of making efforts to disrupt the democratic path.

NC candidate from Kathmandu constituency-5 Dr Mahat said this at a programme organized here today by Reporters’ Club Nepal. People should vote for the NC to clear the pathway of democratic values, Dr Mahat noted.

“The left alliance is trying to take a wrong track, The communists have opted for establishing the rule of a leader of single party by raising the issue of presidential rule”, Dr Mahat further said.

He went on saying, “We are against the system where a party or a person rules others. The communist parties of Nepal are trying to establish communist rule and carry on their regime for 50 years”. RSS
