Akmal is a social worker. He helps those in need by various means. He loves to help people with when and whatever they need. Akmal does this with the motive of making the world a better place to live. He says there is a ray of hope and humanity can still be lit up again in the hearts of people. In this selfish world, no one comes forward to help anyone. One might see something wrong happening in front of them but still won’t help. The humane feeling that has gone with the need to be lightened up again. Everyone should come forward and help those in need.
Helping others also includes changing others’ mindsets. To encourage others to come and help more and more people, that’s the change the society needs.
He wants to take it a step forward and go to rural areas and help people know about basic things like hygiene, sanitation, health issues and basic rights. In the time of this pandemic he was one of them who came forward and provided food facilities to people. He even distributed masks and sanitizers in the area he organized campaigns and showed how the mask should be worn and to maintain social distancing. Further, he made them understand about quarantine and to go to the doctor if any symptoms are there.
He is making people aware of a lot of necessary things one of his recent campaigns was based on girl child education. People in rural India still think of girl children as a liability whom they have to grow up and then marry. Everyone wants a better education system but only to educate their sons further.
This topic in the recent campaign helped people to think about it. Why can’t they let their daughters go to study properly and let them get a proper education. Someday they will also earn and will help their parents to live and they will no longer be considered as a liability.
Akmal Ali Khan is the former president of the students’ union in Maulana Azad National Urdu University. He always wanted to do good for others and he had those leadership qualities as well. He had great communication skills, integrity, self – awareness, ability to learn new things according to the needs and gratitude.
