KATHMANDU — We are thrilled to announce the release of my new single, “Hawa le”. Hawa le has been a work in progress for over six months and is finally ready to reach the ears of all our listeners. 2022 has been more of a tour year for us, and we have laid back on releasing new music.

The completion of this song has a venturesome story. While returning to Nepal after my show at Joon Fest 2022 in the UK, I tested covid positive and was quarantined in Doha for seven days. Fortunately, I had my laptop with me, which allowed me to scratch up the beat for this song. The music stayed on my laptop for a while before I started writing the lyrics for the song.

When we concluded our Australia tour in October, I went to Foeseal’s Studio, AtFoe’s, to work on this song. In the meantime, we were also planning for the video of this song. As the instigation of this had been quite unusual, we decided to make a video that would be enticing to the eyes of the viewers. In December, we set an entourage to Pokhara to film this music video featuring various adventure sports and activities that would possibly enthuse domestic tourists, at the least, to try out and explore newer experiences.

In recent times, I have been exploring and experimenting with my music with tracks like “Yaad”, “Kheladi”, “Bhaagera”, and more, as a small attempt to bring contemporary global music flavors to our industry as well. Hawa Le is a dancehall song, a crossover of Reggae, Dub and Urbano music.
