KATHMANDU — Nepal will soon have access to its own microsatellite. A team from Tokyo University will launch altogether 20 microsatellites for Nepal and other 19 countries to help in telecommunication and environment coverage.

According to a report by Nikkei Asian Review, the microsatellites will weigh under 100kg. And its cost is relatively cheaper too. The microsatellite will help Nepal to monitor natural disasters and improve its telecommunication and weather capacity.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency launched a Tricom-1R microsatellite “Tasuki” in February.

The microsatellite will boost Nepal’s space exploration program.
