Twitter is rolling out Twitter Lite and will be available in Nepal soon via the Google Store. The Android app will help to save data. Twitter Lite is similar to Facebook Lite and it will minimize the data usage in Nepal where the cost is high.
Twitter says that the app will run easily on 2G and 3G networks. However, Nepal is now moving forward with extensive 4G networks so it will be a plus point for 4G . The app will also be below 3MB. This means that can enjoy more space on their phones.
Twitter has experienced criticisms in the recent times due to verifying right-wing . The move is seen as a part of their strategy to increase tweets. Twitter so far has 330 million active monthly and the number in Nepal is expected to be below 100k. Twitter is still struggling to earn a profit and its investors are wary about its present situation.
Twitter’s verification process continues to be suspended.
