San Francisco — According to various reports, Twitter is seeking to reopen public applications for verification starting this week. Researcher Jane Manchun Wong cites multiple sources on Twitter, saying that the social network is ready to launch its long-awaited new verification process next week.

Throughout May, Wong shared more details about how the “Verification Request” form works and what types of accounts can receive the blue badge. After disputes over American national politics and other topics, Twitter decided to tag other people with different verified on the social network to understand whether the account represents the government, politician, content creator, or journalist.

According to 9To5Google, so far, only government accounts have different labels.

According to the report, Twitter will ask if your account belongs to a human rights activist, company, entertainment group, government official, journalist/professional sports entity. Then, will have to share their IDs with social networks. Wong said, “On Twitter’s upcoming verification form, the types and qualifications of eligible accounts are basically in line with their guidelines.”

According to the report, if Twitter launches a new verification program this week, this will be another step for the company to continue to improve and bring more features to the platform.

Recently, the social network launched its Spaces feature and announced the Tip Jar feature, which can help creators profit on the platform. Twitter also plans to launch a subscription tier to strengthen this by buying other startups.
