KATHMANDU — The main opposition party—CPN (UML) today has condemned the untoward activities that reportedly took place against the party’s assembly in Janakapur.
A press statement issued by party secretary Yogesh Bhattarai reads that the activities like throwing stones and bricks at a peaceful assembly of the party were unacceptable and condemnable.
The gathering where party leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Gokarna Bista were scheduled to address was disturbed by some anarchic group.
It further reads that it might be a conspiracy hatched against the upcoming election in the Province No-2 slated for September 18.
The press statement also reads that the silence and inefficiency of the local administration to control the disorderly people was also shameful. The party further has appealed to all its leaders, cadres and well-wishers to be alert and committed to the election on behalf of the party. RSS
