INARUWA — Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Mohammad Jakir Haque has said the focus now will be on minimizing the increasing rate of violence against women and children.

Talking to locals in the rural parts of Sunsari on Tuesday, State Minister Haque said lack of education is one reason behind women and children falling victim to violence, and the rise in human trafficking. The Ministry will dedicate itself in minimizing it.

On a different note, Minister of State Haque said the third phase of local elections will be held as per schedule while the government is working to hold the remaining two tiers elections within the stipulated time of mid-January. RSS
