Bardibas, (RSS) — A person was killed when a strong wind brought a tree crashing down at Bhangaha Municipality-5 in Mahottari district on Tuesday evening. Identity of the person killed in Sitapur Dhatiyatol of the municipality is not confirmed yet.
The pedestrian was killed after a tree that he was taking shelter crumbled and crushed him, Sub-Inspector Abadhlal Saha said.
Likewise, the wind that occurred at around 6:30 in the evening has demolished more than 100 houses in the Sitapur.
Moreover, 300 plus trees have crumpled in a forest owned by Rashtriya Basic School at Ramnagar in Bhangaha-4.
Similarly, the strong wind and rainfall in the district have caused a huge damage to the crops in other belts of the district.
Police said that the power supply has been disrupted in many areas after the electric poles were crumbled following the winds.
