KATHMANDU — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that business of the country should be expanded through the Belt and Road Initiative initiated by China.

Inaugurating the Nepal Chinese Guide Association (NEGA) here on Thursday, Foreign Minister Mahara said, “Nepal should take benefit from BRI.” He said that Lumbini could be important destination in development of friendly relation between Nepalese and Chinese, stressing the need of attracting foreign tourists.

Saying number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal is increasing, the Foreign Minister expressed the view that role of tourist guide was important to further strengthen the relation of Nepal and China.

Similarly, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Wu Hong, said that Chinese government has put the development of tourism sector of Nepal on high priority.

Lawmaker Tek Bahadur Gurung, Chief of Tourism Department of the CPN (UML), Surya Thapa, among others expressed the belief that there would be help in economic prosperity of the county through tourism sector if more and more tourists could be attracted from China.
