POKHARA — As many as five passengers were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Batulechaur in ward no 6 of Madi rular municipality in Kaski district today morning.

Among the injured ones, two were reported to be in a critical condition and are receiving treatment at the Paschimanchal Regional Hospital in Pokhara. They were Prakash Gurung and Chok Bahadur Gurung.

The incident occurred when Pokhara-bound bus (Ga 1 Kha 4696) coming from Sildujure of Madi Rural Municipality overturned suddenly, according to the District Police Office.

Travelling in the bus was the owner as well as the ward chair of ward no 1 of Madi rural municipality, Surya Bahadur Gurung, police said, adding he is receiving treatment at the Tarpang Health Office along with two others injured in the incident.

Altogether 50 passengers were on board the bus, police said, adding that the driver absconded following the accident.

Meanwhile, five passengers were hurt when two buses collided at Ghattekhola of Hemja in Pokhara-Lekhnath Municipality-25 in Kaski district today.

The bus (Na 4 Kha 1599) en route to Pokhara from Baglung collided head-on with Baglung-bound bus (Ga 1 Kha 4859).

The injured ones were being treated at Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital, according to police. RSS
