KATHMANDU — Nepali workers going to South Korea are being cheated in the name of distributing prepaid SIM cards illegally.

The fraud is taking place in the office premises of the EPS Korea branch in Lalitpur.

The SIM cards are being distributed free of charge, but the fraudsters are charging people up to 3,000 rupees per person in the name of recharging.

The fraudsters are also charging higher than the market price for insurance, photocopying, and printing services.

The director of the EPS Korea branch, Pushparaj Katuwal, has informed the relevant agencies, including Nepal Police, and Commercial Supply and Consumer Protection Department, about the fraud.

He has requested the agencies to take immediate action to stop the fraud.
