CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND- A shooter has made several casualties in two mosques in Christchurch (Linwood and Deans Avenue). The suspect is considered armed, extremely dangerous, and motivated. At this time one arrest has been made but accomplices can still be at large.

The police authorities asked the inhabitants and especially the Muslim community who appear to be the gunman’s target, to stay inside.

Bangladesh cricket team, among the witnesses of the accident, declared they suffered from no casualties when they found themselves in the shooting. But four worshippers were seen in the ground covered in blood.

The word “terrorist” has not been implied. But here is the Oxford Dictionary definition: “The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.”

The city is currently in lockdown as the New Zealand police search for the gunman. Bangladesh has been touring New Zealand since last month.

UPDATE: 40 people killed, Christchurch hospital treating 48 patients with gunshot wounds
