PewDiePie vs T-Series: T-Series all set to become the highest subscribed YouTube Channel

If you are reading this then most certainly you are aware of YouTube. A subsidiary of Google, YouTube is a video sharing service where you can watch, upload, like, or share a video. Since the rise of the internet, YouTube has marked its dominance among all ages. It will be fair to say that an internet user is a YouTube user too.

Currently, with just over 66 million subscribers, PewDiePie is the most subscribed YouTube channel. PewDiePie has been the most subscribed YouTube channel for a long time now without any serious competition in terms of subscriber numbers. However, T-Series is all set to overtake PewDiePie in few months as predicted by Google and many other analytics tools as well as experts.

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg “PewDiePie” is a solo content creator on the YouTube. He started the channel in the year 2010 and has gained a massive fan following which no one came near until the T-Series threat. The Swedish Internet star started off as a video game commentator and blogs.

With over 61 million subscribers, T-Series is the second most subscribed channel on the YouTube. T-Series is an Indian music company owned founded by late Gulshan Kumar. The company currently owned by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The company was founded in the year 1983 and has been active on the YouTube for 12 years now. They produce music videos mostly for Indian Films as well as independent albums.

There is a lot of heat waving around on the internet about “PewDiePie vs T-Series”. Many people and YouTube channels are also commenting about the swift rise of T-Series. Many are confused about how it is even possible in the first place.

Recently H3 Podcast shared a video on its channel titled PewDiePie vs T-Series. This video has ignited the T-Series fans and the other fellow Indians over his abusive and racist comments about the whole farrago. Some say that this was a publicity stunt from the channels to garner more views.

Many from the west and other parts of the world have not even heard of the T-Series and are trying to figure out how this happened. Well, T-Series is a huge company with a vast history. YouTube is a digital medium used by the company and before YouTube T-Series was a large music company.

The rise of the channel is no surprise if you go into the depth analysis of the factors that has helped T-Series grow substantially to become the highest subscribed YouTube Channel in few months.

T-Series though is behind in terms of Subscribers, they are way ahead in terms of views.

Now let us take a look at the growth of both the channels throughout the years.

This image shows that T-Series had only about 31 million subscribers at the start of the year, 2018 and PewDiePie, on the other hand, more than 58 million subscribers. The data is from August and you can see the rise in the number of the total subscribers for T-Series. All this magic happened in this year and the year is yet to see three more months till the next.

Let us also take a look at the rate which T-Series is growing and what it will achieve in the coming future.

This image shows the predicted subscribers for both the companies in near future. The predicted graph suggests 350 million subscribers for T-Series by July 2023. This may not exactly be the scenario but the subscriber might get doubled reasonably enough.

What are the reasons for this swift rise? You must be curious. Well, let me help you out with it.

The major reason is the content base and the user population. The west already has already many countries with more than 80% internet penetration base but India is currently at 30%. The population of India plays a major factor in the swift rise of the subscriber. The Indian population has gained access to the Internet at the very cost effective price and the country’s progress in the field of technology has helped them. India today is among the leaders of IT sectors.

There were only very few YouTube based content creators in India a few years ago and the west already had an immense competition. T-Series gave what the population wanted and with the bloom of the Internet in India T-Series cashed the opportunity very well.

For a detailed explanation, take a look at this video by from YouTube Channel Coffee Break.

Let us take a look at the growth of the Internet in India.

Now let us take a look at the number of country wise internet . The numbers of the internet are in millions.

China 772
India 462.12
The United States 312.32
Brazil 149.06
Indonesia 143.26
Japan 118.63
Russia 109.55
Nigeria 98.39
Mexico 85

As you can clearly see India is the second highest Internet using country by population. The data is a year old. China is way ahead in terms of user population but due to a ban on YouTube in China, there are no Chinese channels in the list of top most subscribed channels.

India also spends a lot of time on the Internet.

To conclude this, India clearly is set to rule the internet world and anything coming from India can have the highest subscription and views. So, do not get surprised from next time as it might happen everywhere not just on YouTube.
