DHAKA, BANGLADESH — North South University Law & Mooting Society is going to organize an event named “Street Law & Community Lawyering” in Dhaka. The event is designed as a workshop, community lawyering and a report presentation.

The workshop will be held on November 23 & 24, 2018 about “Street Law & Community Lawyering” at North South University. The trained members from the workshop will visit several education institutions and a medical college on November 29, to make them conscious about cyber-crime. Also, they will visit a remote village to find cases of cyber-crime and other legal issues to provide solution to the marginalized community. Returning back from the Comilla on December 3, there will be a report presentation on the experience of street Law & Community Lawyering at the premises of North South University. The event is being organized with a view to making students familiar with community advocating and as well as taking the backward people under the shadow of legal aid.

The sponsors of the event are Eastern Medical College, Julphar Bangladesh, Shundarban Gas Company and Lipy Group. The training partner of the event is “Empowerment through Law of the Common People” (ELCOP) which is a prominent organization in Bangladesh for conducting Street Law & Community Lawyering.
