Nepal and India have created a 14-point agreement which will see tourism between the two countries heavily promoted. Rabindra Adhikari, the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, stated that the government aims to attract 20 lakh tourists from India and China in 2020 in what will be known as ‘Visit Nepal Year.’ Earlier this year Adhikari highlighted the importance of Nepal’s hotels on tourism growth, but holiday villas in Kathmandu and the surrounding areas are proving that they too will boost the industry.

Connected by spirituality

During the Joint Working Group Meeting, India agreed to Nepal’s proposal to allow leave travel concession to its employees in order to visit Nepal. Spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda once said that spirituality is the backbone of India. Therefore, Kathmandu and the rest of Nepal is the perfect place for the Indian community to visit as spiritual tours and excursions to places such as Pharing Asura caveare plentiful in Kathmandu. And after a long day, there’s nothing better than putting your feet up in a luxurious villa to truly unwind and feel at peace.

Finding the perfect villa

For Indian tourists looking for a comfortable place to stay in Kathmandu, it’s important they consider what they’re after from their holiday in the city as there are lots to do within the 50km² area. Minister Adhikari has assured the nation that improvements have been made to Tribhuvan International Airport which is just 5km from the city center. Therefore, if you’re after short travel times, a villa somewhere in between the two is the perfect option for you. However, by venturing further afield you’ll find tranquil villas hidden within the mountains which are packed full of history and offer a unique experience as you get to enjoy unforgettable sights and walks around your chosen accommodation.

An adventure

You may choose to spend a large proportion of your time in Kathmandu enjoying the luxuries that your villa offers, such as the pool and being waited on hand and foot by friendly and dedicated staff. But with Bharat Kumar Regmi from the Nepal embassy stating that “A large number of tourists visiting Nepal can be offered a combined package tour to visit Assam and the Northeast. Tour operators from the city can tie up with travel agents in Nepal to provide services like adventure tourism.” As a result, you may opt to venture a little further afield. In which case, be sure to choose a villa which has convenient road access and which offers relaxing facilities to help you unwind when you get back from your adventure.

As Nepal and India agree to work together to boost tourism in the country, Indian tourists have a vast array of holiday villas in Kathmandu and the surrounding areas to choose to holiday in. With spiritualism being a strong value in the Indian community, many will choose to enjoy a break which will bolster this. Whereas, others may opt to take up the adventure packages being sold. But regardless of your preference, your choice of a villa is pivotal and will make all the difference in how peaceful and enjoyable your stay in the city is.
