5 Must Know Facts About YouTube Channel ‘Atypical Duo’
A splendid concept that started between the super siblings, Sanjay Raj Gurung and Sandhya Raj Gurung, Atypical Duo is a trending YouTube Channel, a project started by these Bangkok based siblings. It’s not even been a month since the channel started and it’s already trending among the teenagers. It has amassed more than 4k subscribers with every video reaching over 50K views.
Reaction videos like people reacting to games, movies, songs, and food are going viral online and there are tons of such videos on the international level. However, in the context of Nepali YouTubers, we can hardly count such channels on our fingers but the channel Atypical duo is doing a hell of a job to create interesting reaction videos.
The brother-sister duo of the channel spoke with Kathmandu Tribune to share some interesting facts about the channel which you should not miss out on knowing. Stay put!
#Fact 1: Originally “A Typical trio”
“Actually we both have an elder sister who is now living in the United States. Our channel was meant to be named Atypical Trio but Sradha Raj Gurung(the eldest sister) had to leave for the States so we are atypical duo now.”

#Fact 2: We are Nepalese but not in Nepal
“We are pursuing our undergrad studies in Bangkok, Thailand. All of the videos have been shot in Bangkok and all the participants in the video are our close friends. Even though you see everyday foods and items of Nepal, we have to manage to import all the things we need for the video. So it’s not that easy to make the videos. We’ve got great reviews from the audiences and lots of requests like ‘Tongba, Cigarettes, and different types of food reaction in the video so we are trying our best to make it happen!

#Fact 3: How the channel started:
Buzzfeed and FACTS! We never found any reaction videos related to Nepalese food or related to Nepal in the similar context which inspired us to make a channel of our own. Facts is an Irish based channel where they show all Irish people trying kinds of stuff and that’s where we are heading towards right now. It’s going to all about representing Nepalese culture and lifestyle to the world. Our 1st video with Nepalese participants trying all kind of stuff is coming soon, so stay tuned!

#Fact 4. Ask who ‘Liar’ is in Nepalese gaming community:
“I am actually a hardcore gamer and one of the pioneers in bringing in the ‘Counter strike: Global offensive’ scene in Nepal. I have also represented as Team Nepal with 4 other friends/team members in ‘The world championship CSGO 2015’. I have loads of friends and people I know in the Nepalese gaming community and also have a small youtube gaming channel just to edit videos i made with my friends for fun. “Even though our videos do not look like it takes a lot of work, it actually is a time crunch. On top of that, I am a final year student of Biotechnology majoring in food science. So, managing studies along with making contents for our channel is quite hectic on me rather than my brother.” –Sandhya.
