Basil Rai is a 24-year-old guitarist, composer, and producer. His songs are best known for their blend of classical elements influenced by the style in the 90s guitar virtuosos. Rai’s love for music goes long back to his childhood, however, what has really got people talking about his music is his solo debut with the song “Tarah Maya Cha” from his debut album “Sansar Ma”
Rai professionally is a Junior Associate in a bank in Siliguri, but music is his refuge and his celebration. Music is his escape, his friend, and his inspiration. Music has been the biggest influence is Basil’s childhood as a family full of musicians surrounded him and that influence is driving him even today.

Rai initially gained popularity in late 2018 as he debuted as a guitarist for the alternative rock band Ace Of Spade Sikkim. He released a song with the group “Never Give Up” produced by Ace Studio. He still performs with Ace of Spade Sikkim on different occasions. His performances in the North-East Youth Festival, Arunachal Pradesh, and Red ribbon fest Sikkim is remembered and loved even till today by the crowd of the Northeast. In 2017 he was felicitated as the second runner up at the Kanchendzonga tourism festival.

Rai’s musical journey has been very personal and a lot more than just a career. Rai says, “To all the budding artists and young musicians Rai would like to convey its message that music is all about passion, struggle and hard work so don’t give up on music so easily. Let the art of music create your own story.“
Rai is now further working on more singles for the album “Sansar Ma”.
He will release his new single ‘Sansar Ma’ on major music streaming platforms soon. The song is a mournful ballad about loss, longing, and loneliness.
