Supervisor accused of thrashing a Nepali Security Guard in Malaysia under arrest: Embassy registers FIR against the supervisor
KATHMANDU — Supervisor Ram Gopal Murau of Kapilvastu, who had beaten a Nepali security guard callously working in Malaysian M3 mall, has surrendered to the police on Monday. As per reports, he had physically assaulted Islam Hussain of Nawalparasi, who was on duty at M3 Mall in Kuala Lumpur on July 7.
As soon as the Embassy of Nepal, Kuala Lumpur got the information via trending social media video of Murau bashing Hussain with a baton, they lodged an FIR against Murau at the Wangsa Maju police station in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
“As soon as the embassy filed the complaint, Marau reached the embassy. Murau surrendered to police after a discussion between the victim and the perpetrator at the embassy. The incident took place after a misunderstanding between the two sides. The beating appeared to be inhumane. We have lodged a complaint with the police to take necessary action against the culprit,” said Uday Raj Pandey, Ambassador of the Nepal Embassy in Malaysia.” He further added: “The police have already started the necessary investigation. “
The embassy had made a public request to the victim to come in contact with them after the video of the beating went viral on social media last Thursday. In the 44-second video, Marau is seen striking Islam seven times in the back and legs with a thick black baton carried by security guards and slapping him six times on the face and cheek.
Police investigations subsequently found that the incident took place at the parking lot of a condominium in Jalan Madrasah, Wangsa Maju, on July 7.
As per the embassy, the two are living in Malaysia illegally with expired residential visas. The victim has been kept under protection by the embassy.
